CFP: European Music Analysis Conference, Leuven, Sep 2014

VIIIth EUROPEAN MUSIC ANALYSIS CONFERENCE

Following previous meetings in Colmar (France), Trento (Italy), Montpellier (France), Rotterdam (Holland), Bristol (UK), Freiburg (Germany) and Rome (Italy), the 8th European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC–8) will be organized in Belgium by the Dutch-Flemish Society for Music Theory (VvM), in association with the Musicology Department of the University of Leuven, and with the collaboration of GATM (Gruppo Analisi e Teoria Musicale), SFAM (Société Française d'Analyse Musicale), SBAM (Société Belge d’Analyse Musicale), SMA (Society for Music Analysis), GMTH (Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie), and the Russian Society for Music Theory (OTM).

EuroMAC-8 encourages submissions in the following formats:

-          Call for sessions

Around 50% of the EuroMAC-8 programme will consist of pre-organized sessions.In order to optimize a session’s chance of acceptance, session organizers are kindly invited (and strongly advised) to contact the conference organization committee before submitting a proposal: Pieter.berge at arts.kuleuven.be

Deadline for consultation: November 15, 2013

Deadline for submission: January 15, 2014

-          Call for individual proposals

Individual proposals can be submitted on all topics of music theory and/or analysis.

Deadline for submission: January 15, 2014

-          Call for poster presentations

The conference provides facilities for poster presentations. Posters will be displayed during the whole conference.

Deadline for submissions: June 30, 2014

-          Call for book presentations

The conference provides facilities for authors and editors to present recent book publications (i.e. books published between September 2011 and September 2014). Book presentations should aim to contextualize the publication and to summarize its main research ambitions and results. Authors and editors may also invite third-parties to present the publication. Readers may also submit a proposal on their own initiative.

The deadline for proposals is January 15, 2014. Informal consultations are possible until December 15, 2013 (Pieter.berge atarts.kuleuven.be )
