The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music seeks candidates for a one-year, non-renewable position in music theory and musicology, beginning August 25, 2013. Responsibilities include three courses per semester. This is a full-time appointment as Lecturer with salary of $36,000 plus benefits. Ph.D. or equivalent in music theory, musicology, or related field is required. Specialization is open, but courses will include undergraduate theory, 19th-century music history, and a doctoral seminar of the candidate's own design.
