During the ninetieth anniversary year of his birth, the Ligeti 2013 Symposium and Festival will bring together performers, scholars, students, faculty, and members of the community to celebrate his diverse and multi-faceted contributions to our musical world by listening to, discussing, and reveling in his music. We invite composers, performers, and scholars to respond to the Call for Proposals for paper sessions, round table or panel discussions, lecture-recitals, master classes, poster sessions, and other sessions of unusual format. Concerts featuring Florida State University College of Music performers will include Ligeti’s Piano Concerto, Concert Românesc, Horn Trio, Piano Etudes, Three Pieces for Two Pianos, and other choral and chamber works, as well as related music featuring early music and world music ensembles.
