CALL FOR PAPERS

GAMuT Graduate Student Conference at UNT 2013

The Graduate Association of Musicologists und Theorists (GAMuT) and the College of Music at the University of North Texas are pleased to announce a graduate student conference to be held Saturday 28 September 2013 at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

We invite interested graduate students currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program to submit paper proposals on any topic in the fields of musicology, music theory, and ethnomusicology. Interdisciplinary papers are particularly encouraged. Papers will be 25 minutes in length, followed by a question and answer period. All papers accepted for presentation will be eligible for the conference paper award.

Please submit an abstract of no more than 350 words with up to 4 pages of examples as a single PDF file to emilyhagen atmy.unt.edu. Individual proposals will be reviewed anonymously, so do not include your name on the proposal itself. Your submission should be accompanied by an email that includes the title of your paper, your name, institutional affiliation, email address, and telephone number.

All materials must be received on or before 1 July 2013. Decisions will be returned by 31 July 2013.
