KURT WEILL FOUNDATION GRANT PROGRAM
NEXT DEADLINE: June 1, 2015. This grant application deadline is restricted exclusively to College/University Performance Grants and Kurt Weill Mentors for productions and mentorships taking place in the 2015 fall semester only.
College/University Performance Grants:
Grants are awarded to colleges and universities in support of general production expenses for performances of Kurt Weill's and/or Marc Blitzstein's stage works, and to cover musical expenses in connection with performances of Weill's or Blitzstein's concert works.
Kurt Weill Mentors:
Performing arts organizations and educational institutions may request support to engage conductors, directors, performers, and scholars who have been designated "Kurt Weill Mentors" by the Kurt Weill Foundation. Kurt Weill Mentors might aid in preparation of Weill or Blitzstein stage or concert performances, present workshops or lectures, or participate in scholarly symposia. Such requests may be considered even when the relevant performances would not otherwise be eligible for support under the Foundation's grant program. Applicants should contact the Foundation for further information, and the Foundation will recommend appropriate Weill Mentors for specific projects.
Each year the Kurt Weill Foundation Grant Program awards financial support to not-for-profit organizations for performances of musical works by Kurt Weill and Marc Blitzstein, to individuals and not-for-profit organizations for scholarly research pertaining to Weill, Lotte Lenya, and Blitzstein, and to not-for-profit organizations for relevant educational initiatives. The deadline for the 2016 round is November 2, 2015.
