The Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor will teach segments of the comprehensive undergraduate Musicianship curriculum (integrating theory, analysis, and aural/oral skills), and possibly Fundamentals of Music, Enjoyment of Music (for non-majors), and/or a graduate elective in the applicant's area of specialization; participate in and contribute to the community of music faculty as a valued colleague.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant, interdisciplinary department of scholars, composers, and performers who engage in creative work and research that seeks to advance the discipline. Minimum qualifications: ABD in music theory or related discipline; record of excellence in the teaching of undergraduate music theory and ear training. Preferred qualifications: completed doctorate; active scholarly agenda; experience in and enthusiasm for the teaching of non-majors.
