JOB: University of Denver, musicology (one-year)

JOB: The University of Denver's Lamont School of Music invites applications for a Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor for the 2015-16 academic year.

We are seeking a musicologist with a strong background in research and writing in any area of scholarly expertise, and a successful teaching record. Teaching Assistant Professors have opportunities to participate in career development workshops and our division-wide faculty mentoring program.  This position entails eight courses distributed over three quarters. These courses include three lower-division musicology survey courses (Medieval and Renaissance Music, Baroque Music, and Classical Music); three upper-division/graduate seminars, one in the candidate's area of expertise and two in other areas of her/his choice (e.g., interdisciplinary, genre or composer based, performance related); and a topics course, taught twice, designed for non-music majors.

Requirements: A PhD in Musicology and at least one year of experience teaching at the college/university level or the demonstrated potential for strong teaching. Applicants with substantial teaching experience who are ABD may be considered, provided that they complete their degree prior to the beginning of the 2015-16 school year.
