Research Position in Music Cognition at the Audio Communication Group, Technische Universität Berlin, Germany
A research position is available at the Audio Communication Group, (www.ak.tu-berlin.de), Technische Universität Berlin, in the area of empirical music research, starting on the 1st of December 2013 for a period of 35 months, optionally leading to a PhD.
Pay: 65 % part time, TV-L E13 (Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement: Tarifvertrag der Länder, Berliner Hochschulen)
Job profile:
The candidate will work conduct empirical research on the effects of design parameters of new musical instruments on performers and audiences. The position fits within the project “Design, Development, and Dissemination of New Musical Instruments (3DMIN)”, which is funded by the Einstein Foundation, Berlin.
We are looking for candidates that hold a Masters degree in social sciences or engineering with a specialization in Systematic Musicology, Communication Science, Psychology, or Music Technology. The candidate should have solid knowledge in quantitative empirical research methods and basic knowledge in qualitative research methods.
The supervisors are Prof. Dr. Stefan Weinzierl and Dr. Hauke Egermann.
