Dean of the College of Music and Dramatic Arts

Louisiana State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Music and Dramatic Arts (CMDA). The Dean provides ultimate administrative oversight for all aspects of academic life within the college, including strategic planning, fiscal management, personnel development, academic programs, research enterprises, and student enrollment. The Dean also has primary responsibilities for external initiatives that include community outreach and development. The Dean reports directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the College.

Requirements: Ability to provide visionary leadership in the performing arts; possess a terminal degree or equivalent professional experience in music, theatre, or related discipline and a distinguished record of creative and/or scholarly activities; administrative experience including responsibility for budgetary, personnel, and academic matters; demonstrated success in fund-raising and development; and commitment to the values and disciplines of the performing arts.
