CFP: International Merleau-Ponty Circle, Duquesne Univ., Pittsburgh, Sep 2013

The International Merleau-Ponty Circle would like to invite papers for its 38th annual meeting held this fall, September 26-28, at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Keynote speakers for the conference include Dermot Moran and Pierre Rodrigo. The conference theme is "Movement - In History, Art, and Being."

Paper submissions exploring the theme are encouraged, but papers on any current area of research in Merleau-Ponty studies will be considered. Completed papers will be given strong preference. Detailed abstracts will also be considered; a short curriculum vitae should accompany abstracts. Papers should be no more than 4,500 words/30 minutes reading time. Please format papers for blind review and send with a cover letter to the conference director, merleauponty2013 at gmail.com.

The conference features the annual M. C. Dillon Memorial Lecture -- an honor and monetary award for the best graduate student submission, with publication in Chiasmi International. Graduate students who wish to be considered for the Dillon award should indicate this in their cover letter.

Deadline for submission: June 1, 2013.

Please send submissions to Jessica Wiskus, conference director, at merleauponty2013 at gmail.com.
