Illinois State University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Music History.
DUTIES: Teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Western music history and literature to music majors; teach in the university’s general education program; develop and sustain a positive record of scholarly/creative activity; other teaching and service as appropriate and needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate and successful teaching experience in Music History/Literature at the collegiate level is required. Applicants who are ABD may be considered, but a doctorate will be required to achieve tenure. Applicants with strong additional skills in an area other than Music History are encouraged to highlight those abilities in the application.
RANK, SALARY, AND BENEFITS: Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary based upon qualifications and experience. Benefits include retirement, health, dental, and eye-care insurance.
THE UNIVERSITY: Illinois State University enrolls approximately 20,000 students. The School of Music has an enrollment of 400 music majors: 330 undergraduate and 70 graduate students.
