JOBS: University of Pennsylvania, musicology (open-rank), ethnomusicology (tenure-track)

MUSICOLOGY SEARCH, 2012

The Department of Music at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to make an open-rank appointment in musicology to begin 1 July 2013. All areas of specialization will be considered; however, scholars who work on topics pre-1700 or post-1900 are especially encouraged to apply. We also encourage applications from scholars with strong interdisciplinary orientations and with an ability to engage other sub-disciplines in music and sound studies.

We seek a candidate with proven classroom experience; teaching responsibilities will include core and specialized undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by 1 July 2013.

ETHNOMUSICOLOGY SEARCH, 2012

The Department of Music at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in ethnomusicology to begin 1 July 2013.  All areas of specialization will be considered; the Department especially encourages applications from scholars with strong interdisciplinary orientations and with an ability to engage other sub-disciplines in music.
