JOB: University of Notre Dame, musicology (tenure-track)

UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME. The Program of Liberal Studies (PLS)
invites applications for a tenure-track position in musicology, at the
rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2013. We seek applicants with an interest in
interdisciplinary work and/or sacred music who would complement the expertise of the Notre Dame music
faculty.

 The scholar appointed will be expected to lead Great Books seminars and
to teach the PLS music course, which focuses on ways in which music
intersects with the liberal arts.  We seek a scholar who is establishing a
record of research and teaching excellence, and who demonstrates genuine
affinity for the humanistic spirit of our department. PLS is a Great
Books department with 120 undergraduate majors, founded in 1950, with its
own tenure-line faculty drawn from various disciplines and committed to an
integrated curriculum. Ph.D. required. Salary and research support more
than competitive.
