JOB: Assistant Editor, Grove Music Online -- Oxford University Press Grove Music Online has an opening for a talented and knowledgeable assistant editor to manage the article updating program and multimedia program for the acclaimed reference work, Grove Music Online. The assistant editor’s responsibilities will include inviting and commissioning revisions to scholarly articles, tracking projects and maintaining schedules, preparing materials for production, proofing and editing XML, and performing image and audio-visual link research. Candidates with a degree in musicology or a related discipline, strong oral and written communication skills, editing experience and a familiarity with relational databases are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude for technical systems and skills (e.g., XML editors, content management systems, Excel macros), a demonstrated ability to manage time independently to meet deadlines, diplomacy in communicating with colleagues and scholars, and exceptional attention to detail.
