The graduate students of the University of British Columbia’s School of Music are
pleased to announce a call for papers for the 2012 Pacific Northwest Graduate Student
Conference entitled “Music in Time.” The conference will take place from Friday,
February 24th to Sunday, February 26th.
We encourage submissions from graduate students in musicology, theory, music
education, performance, and composition. Presentations should be no longer than twenty
minutes and lecture-recitals no longer than forty minutes. A ten-minute question period
will follow each presentation.
Abstracts of no more than 250 words should be sent as .doc, .docx, or .pdf attachments to
ubcpnw2012 at gmail.com with the file name: UBCPNW2012 – Your Paper Title. The
abstracts themselves must contain no information that could identify you or your
institution. The body of the e-mail should include the following information: paper title,
author’s name, address, institutional affiliation (if any), email address, and audio-visual
requirements.
Submissions must be received by 23:59 PDT Sunday, January 15th, 2012. The chosen
presenters will be notified on or before Tuesday, January 31st.
