JOB: University of California, Santa Barbara, Music Theory (one-year)

Music: University of California, Santa Barbara Visiting Assistant Professor Music Theory, one-year appointment, non-tenure-track. We seek to appoint a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2012-2013 academic year in the area of music theory, with a preference for candidates who can bridge our department strengths in theory and musicology. We seek a promising scholar who can contribute to the intellectual community of the department while teaching undergraduate core courses in music theory and graduate seminars that blend historical and theoretical/analytical studies. The Department of Music has strengths in music theory, musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, and performance, and has a Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Music. UCSB is known for its interdisciplinary landscape and we encourage applicants with an ability to engage students and faculty across our campus. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
